Modern French fare with a flair! Lovely stop, perfect for dates or intimate groups. Beautiful ambiance and excellent service. The menu offers tasting options of 2 / 3 / 4 courses that you can mix and match as you please. I did a 3 course meal, while my wife opted for the 3 course restaurant week prix fixe. Food was all delicious, but portions were a bit small for the price. Overall 4.5 stars out of 5.

Every single dish tastes like it was made with love. The ingredients balance each other out, resulting in a truly pleasing experience to the palate. Some ingredients at times might make you wonder what they are exactly, since they may taste very familiar or completely exotic. The dishes are carefully and thoughtfully plated and the cooking technique is impeccable. I, for instance, had the duck leg confit as an entree which was tender and juicy on the inside but the skin was crispy and bright. The cubed potato it was on blew me away - the simplicity of roasted potato was elevated in such a way I can humbly say it was my favorite. The desserts were not too sweet and portions are small (like a taster) which is perfect to wrap up a delicious three course meal. Each of the members of staff - from the host to the server and runner - were prompt and efficient. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to make great recommendations. Even his tone of voice was soothing and it was pleasant to have him around. One thing I particularly thank is at the end of our meal he politely *asked* if he could bring the check; he did not drop it like in many other restaurants. In terms of hygiene, the surfaces, utensils and outfits were clean. The restroom is average and somewhat underwhelming in comparison to such a great experience. The dining room is ample, yet not huge. This is somewhere you definitely go for the food and food alone. Perfect for dates and small gatherings. Great restaurant to book a reservation during restaurant week since you get the same quality for a reduced fee. Recommended!

I was very excited to try this restaurant and booked a reservation during restaurant week. I'm not sure if they just put out their worst dishes for restaurant week but I was extremely disappointed. The aesthetic of the restaurant is older, feels a bit like you're in a hotel dining room. We got wine, which wasn't great but they have a comprehensive wine list so that's on us. For the apps we got the cured salmon, which tasted like the smell of a fish market, and the soup, which was probably the only decent dish. We followed it up with the fish and the duck. The fish was overly salted so we couldn't even finish it and the duck was dry. We finished off with dessert, the toffee was overcooked. The ice cream on the other dessert was good but nothing great. Overall wouldn't recommend going during restaurant week or maybe just order off the regular menu.

TLDR - food was good, but not great; service was outstanding but our food was delayed; and the restaurant was uncomfortably warm. For the price, it’s not worth it imo. Service was impeccable, although our food was delayed between each course. We arrived at 8:30 and only received our final course (total of 3 courses) at 10:15. The restaurant was kept uncomfortably warm to the point where I was welcoming any cold breeze from the front door being open. Overall the food was good, but nothing spectacular. For the price you’re paying and the hype around the restaurant, you would think that at least one of the dishes would’ve been “OMG this is DELICIOUS.” But neither my partner nor I came to that conclusion. Maybe we didn’t get the right thing or maybe our expectations were too high, but I’ve easily had better food at a better price in another restaurant with similar service and ambiance (e.g., Carbone). Between my partner and I we got the: salad lyonnaise, cured salmon, carbonara, pekin duck, New Zealand venison, and sorbet trio. I personally would not recommend this restaurant, because as I mentioned I think there are definitely other restaurants that are more worth the money. But if you’ve got $$$ to spend and you’re looking for something new, it wasn’t a horrible experience.

A nice place to go in restaurant week, but not super amazed. Fish dorade entree is delicious, all appetizers (salad lyonnaise, cured salmon and broccoli soup) are good. Dessert and beef entree didn’t stand out.

All dishes were delicious. We loved the customizable menu. Our server was knowledgeable, had great energy, and was attentive. Their take on beef tartare was the highlight of the night. Great upscale choice that isn’t quite as pretentious and expensive as other Michelin starred restaurants.

As my first time experience in Batard was amazing, my excitement and expectation were super high I guess. I have to mention, their foods is definitely top notch as far as from thepresentation far to the tasty but communication is something they really should work on. Also I feel mistreated when we enter the restaurant because when I asked the hostess (it was a guy with the glasses) for the corner table, he said he can’t and he let all other white people choose their seat. All other asians were seated in the between tables lol maybe it’s just me being so sensitive. But that definitely felt racist and upset because the way that guy talked to me was very arrogant and rude. One more thing, we had a reservation 5:45pm due to emergency meeting, I tried to modify (push back 15 mins late) the reservation through open table however it said to contact the restaurant directly which I called them several times since 12pm of the day. No one picked up the phone, left the message few times of course no one responded. I don’t think I would be back again. There are so many other good restaurant with better service.

Dishes were meticulously prepared and plates. Rather reasonably-priced Michelin starred restaurant.
