Chatmans Chicken Restaurant

Went to Chatman's chicken for lunch today and I regret not checking this place out sooner. The fried chicken was super flavourful, juicy and crispy. Super friendly service, the owner was very friendly and let us try a riblet which was phenomenal. Highly recommend!

It was our first time visiting and we will definitely be going back again real soon chicken was hot and delicious. The mac&cheese was very creamy and tasty and the herb in the mashed potatoes was something I never had before but was really good.

OK to be honest, I’ve been to Chapmans before always have a pleasant experience met the owner before friendly guy. Food was good today. The only thing I did not like was the white meat was a little too dry for my taste other than that everything else was great. The other thing was the jalapeño poppers were half shell type big filled with cheese did not care for those and I had asked for three and they charge me for six besides that everything else is good.

I had heard, and continue to hear so many great things about this place like , "Best Chicken in Town" and friendly service, but I have to disagree to a point. I can't say the service was out of the ordinary when ordering my food, I couldn't really hear the girl behind the counter and I guess she couldn't hear me, but my oder got placed. I really did appreciate seeing Mr Chatman going around to all the tables and checking in on e everyone. Never bring here before, I didn't know there was an original & spicy. I opted for the spicy and was disappointed that it's just a salty spice blend poured on top. Too salty and not spicy enough in my opinion. The CRUNCH of the breading was phenomenal as well as the tenderness of the meat. I hot the corn fritters but either they were too cold or breading too heavy, I did not enjoy them . The greens were good. I'll definitely be back to try the original and the nac n cheese cheese & green beans. From what I've heard those are also some great eating. They do have a wide variety.

This was my 2nd time being there and the food and service was wonderful! The portions are generous, prices are great, food was hot and Mr Chatman was nice enough to give me a sample of the fried riblets. Everything was delicious ? Please support small business❤️

Stayed in San Antonio for a few years and this was hubby, and I favorite chicken spot. I'm never disappointed. Arriving today, I was surprised with some new additions to the menu chicken and waffles. Will try on next stop. Today, I had to have some soul food favs...2 piece white, greens, yams, and cornbread with tropical punch Kool-aid and lemonade mix. We discovered this restaurant upon arriving in this area and frequently stopped in for soul food at its finest. Served by the owner on past occasions who is very courteous and outgoing. If you are looking for some soul food with flavor, this is the spot. Always great service and definitely worth the stop.

I ordered the three piece mixed with two sides. For the sides I ordered mac and cheese and red beans and rice. I thought everything was really good. Best of all I enjoyed it with some really good red kool-aid. The owner was walking around and he was very nice and down to earth. I can't wait to go back next time that I am in the area.

This is some of the best, fresh tasting fried chicken, gizzard and amazing riblets you can have. The sweet potato pie is to die for and can't beat the awsome service you get with your food. I love eating there whenever we are in town. Must try!!
