So I'll start by saying, I'm super picky about Mexican restaurants since of course, I grew upon this. Cocina Madrigal will definitely be my home away from home. I can't say enough about the flavor and how delicious everything was. The service was great and even though they were busy, everyone in the the whole place knew what they were doing. People were enjoying their meals and the wait staff actually appeared to like their jobs. Very nice experience. I'll let the pictures tell the story now. Go check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

What an amazing place! I was not expecting such excellent food and good service. This is easily the best Mexican food I've had to date! It doesn't surprise me that this place was rated #1 in the entire nation by Yelp in 2022. It's a hole in the wall place with limited parking but they do take reservations which was amazing. Came in with some co-workers for lunch and we were all blown away. Absolutely should be on anyone's list of restaurants to visit! The food was very fresh and had excellent flavor. Very unique compared to any other traditional Mexican restaurants which makes it stand out. They have two outdoor seating areas, bar and inside seating. The service was excellent and will definitely be back many more times!! Cheers!

What a gem to find this Mexican food. Enjoyable lunch with colleagues. Loved the chicken quesadillas and super yummy! The beef and pork burritos are huge but is really tasty. Too much for one person to consume for sure. The grilled chicken salad is nice and light. Will come to drink their tequilas the next time.. friendly staff and sitting outside to enjoy the light cool breeze is nice

The atmosphere here is really nice. I wanted to treat my friends to a delicious lunch at a new to us place but we left hungry and disappointed. The only thing that we could enjoy was the beer. It couldn't help the food though. The madrigal burrito I ordered looked like it had been sitting on the counter for 5 or 10 minutes. Long enough for the sauce to saturate completely through the burrito. It would have been fine if the sauce had flavor. I could have found joy in any type of flavor for that matter. The pictures look better than what the food tasted. It wasn't bad but it had absolutely zero flavor outside of the boiled chicken. My friend apologized profusely because I couldn't bare eating that bland burrito. The Taco was left unfinished as well. Even the beans tasted fresh out of a can. I won't be going back. The corn tortillas had great flavor for what it was worth.

I do not know where to start. Everything was fantastic from the hostess welcoming us in to thanking us on our way out. Gabriella made it such a lovely experience for us. My girlfriend and I go out very rarely to catch up and we wanted a nice slow meal and the whole experience. Gabriella made that happen for along with providing excellent suggestions for appetizers, dinner and dessert. The drinks are strong, the food is delicious and the service was amazing. Keep in mind they have very limited parking, they do accept reservations, the floor slopes when you first get inside so watch your step. Dining outside was ideal you can hear the weather is beautiful right now and I can say we left so full, so happy and it was an all around wonderful first time experience. I look forward to going back.

Great place!! Immediately welcomed and a wonderful atmosphere. The food was amazing! A little more on the spicy side (beans and beef). The guacamole was homemade and was amazing. The owner took the time to explain everything. I would definitely come back!! Give it a try!!

Popular local spot! It's a good thing we made reservations or we would have been waiting awhile. You will need an Uber or car to get here as it's away from city center just outside a residential area. We had some of the BEST service we've had in years here, and that's with the restaurant bursting at the seams with guests. Angel was attentive and thorough. The food is the real deal, the salsa is no joke, and the steak was tender and the salad fresh. Be careful with the margaritas: so good, sooooooooo strong! Very reasonable prices, but you can spend a lot if you're ordering drinks, especially if you jump into their extensive tequila menu. Single story, so easily wheelchair accessible. Two single bathrooms (one for women, one for men AND women? Seems like it'd be easier to just make them non-gendered, but hey, there are options!) I will say that it was a pretty noisy space.

Well after listening to everyone brag about this place as if it was a gold mine and being referred to it by a downtown eatery near my office, I decided to go and check this place out for myself. As I pulled into the parking lot, I saw there were parking issues. I looked outside in the patios and then went inside the restaurant, and I immediately noticed there would be things they needed to work on. I sat outside so I could hear what the patrons were saying about their food, and that too may have been a bad choice. Although I was greeted and tended to pretty fast by the hostess and my waitress, as soon as my waitress walked away, there was also a four-legged friend who decided to join me under-the-table. Don't get me wrong, I love animals. I love pets, and I love life, but this was not the place or the time for it. I went ahead and ordered 2 chicken enchiladas and one beef taco. I was served within 10 minutes and also had a small glass of tea with my meal. The green chicken enchiladas were OK but not something that I would order again. I then focused my attention on the beef taco that I had requested, and that too was not a good choice. This restaurant claims to be Oaxacan style food, and I do know what authentic Mexican food is as I have cooked for my family and friends many times. Maybe this was just an off day for them, I don't know. When my waitress came back out, she only checked on me once, while other patrons received more attention than I did. My waitress did not ask if I wanted a refill of tea and just went ahead and poured water into my glass, and now I have a mixture of watered-down flavor. That is a big no-no. To do that to a customer is a lack of attention you give to them. There is nothing else I can say about this place, so I think that's it. Was it just a bad day for them? I'll try again sometime. As for their sister restaurant downtown on Central Avenue and Monroe, I highly recommend them. Enjoy!
