This is simple, you just have to come eat at Dame if you can snag a reservation (just be online at 12 on Resy 3 weeks in advance and you should be good!!). The food is divine. The setting is cool and funky (loved the disco music being played all night long). All dishes are so flavourful. The wine list is diverse and delicious and the sommelier will be able to make great recommendations. The menu is short, dishes seem simple but are amazingly flavourful and will rock your tastebuds. We absolutely loved our visit and it was the perfect place to celebrate a birthday from out of town. We really enjoyed all dishes that we ordered, and the whole dover sole was simply amazing, the tuna tartare toast was divine, the oysters were to die for, and no one in our party of four agreed on what dish was the common favourite!! The sticky toffee pudding was also so flavourful and deliciously sticky (and the portion is quite big, we comfortably shared this dessert amongst 4 people!). This place is simply amazing, also while being unpretentious and fun, which was the exact vibe we were looking for. Please come eat at Dame, you will not regret it!!!

I ate here back in June '21, after following along on their awesome Summer pop-up series in 2020. There's good reason why this place has been popping off - each dish was incredibly well thought out & delicious. The lobster tart, whole fish, and fish & chips were especially impressive. The wine list is extensive & impressive while still being very accessible. Lastly, I can't forget to mention the founder's incredible attention to the well-being of their staff. Their recent requirement for proof of vaccination to dine here follows the same attention. Props to Dame! If you want a great seafood-oriented meal, this is the friggin spot!

This place exceeds my expectation. Never thought NYC fish and chips can taste better than London’s! Every single dishes are well balanced and tasty and even the darn bread tastes good. Service is great as well and despite small space, staff pay attention to details. We felt well cared for. I do think w the heat during summer, the restaurant can be closed off if the AC Is stronger. Due to close proximity to kitchen only suggestion is around Air con and temperature control for the restaurant. This place is one star in 2022/2023 for sure. I miss when we can contact the owner (super friendly) and reserve for seats but if you get a table, it's so worth the wait!

Arguably the best restaurant in NYC. The team are perfectionists who execute flawlessly at presenting an amazing dining experience. The fish and chips are a staple; the lobster tart and the Eton mess were my other two favorites. Highly recommend eating here, and kudos to Ed and Patricia!

Dame is a gorgeous restaurant with small and cozy vibes. From where we were sitting, we could see the kitchen and could smell the waft of the fish batter cooking. We went with a group and got a few dishes to share. My favorites were the grilled oysters (you'll want to have at least 2) which remind me of a seafood creme brulee and the squid skewers which came with scallion and a tasty green oil. We mopped that up with sourdough bread. We also got the cabbage, and tuna. For mains, we shared a couple of the fish and chips between us (they are big servings, although you may want more fries) and the skate. Both were delicious. The batter was so crispy and light - it was delicious! For dessert we indulged in the sticky toffee pudding and the passion fruit dessert.

Ooof, wow I’m surprised this place hasn’t gone more viral. Best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The fish is so incredibly delicate, my picture does not do it justice. The chips are perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The crudo was good as well. Overall 10/10 definitely will be back.

A+ Fish and Chips. As I was eating it I was thinking "this is one of the best pieces of fried fish I've had". As the days have passed, I've concluded that it is THE best piece of fried fish I've had. Can't wait for the restaurant.

This is a fantastic pop-up with fish and chips (the fish light and airy, the chips crispy and fluffy), Pimm's cups, Eton mess, and other British delights. It really feels like summer here at Dame! They also donate profits to different charities each week, and have a different pop-up within their pop-up every weekend, so there's plenty of reasons to keep coming back!
