The Japanese food here is some of the best. For places that try to bring modern Japanese to a swanky atmosphere and incorporate candle light and cocktails, maybe no one in Pennsylvania does it better. The attention to detail in these small plates is evident. With these small plates comes the opportunity to try a large selection and I'd recommend doing just that. Our sushi was spot on, our skewers were cooked just right, and out dumplings were full of flavor. I'm not giving this 5 stars for one reason alone; poor reservation management. The reservation was easy to make. We got there (party of two) 1min ahead of out reservation time. The host told me it would be "a few moments." 20min after my reservation time we were still waiting. I was told the delay was due to our table not being set. I asked if we were waiting on another party to leave and was told that was not the case. I was finally sat 23min after my reservation time. I know times are hard and staff can be hard to come by. But if your establishment cannot handle the volume, then don't allow for so many reservations. A 23min delay does not encourage re-patronage.

My girlfriend and I can here tonight to celebrate our first year anniversary and this place was incredible. We were seated downstairs in the corner from the bar. We were greeted by a very nice and welcoming waitress. I loved her energy and vibe; she made the night extra special for us. We ordered the tasting menu and a few of their cocktails and everything was 10/10. The place was beautiful, and everything about it was great. Again, we were very impressed by the food and the friendly service by the waitress. We will definitely be coming back again.

I never wanted to like a restaurant more than this. The atmosphere, the staff, the over vibe was perfect. I was excited to do the tasting menu and each dish came out super quickly and had amazing preparation. But then I tasted them, and each dish was slightly off somehow. The scallops were slightly fishy or the meat was slightly underseasoned or the rice was too sweet or etc... each dish was close to being good but missed the mark. I did however really enjoy my experience there given the ambiance and large portions made me get my money's worth.

Excellent! Service, food, drinks, and ambiance all exceeded my expectations. Every dish was prepared and looking to trying every dish on the menu. Best espresso martini I’ve ever had. Only complaint was the wait to be seated even with a reservation. But the overall experience eliminated that issue.

Had a fabulous experience here! Decided to go off the tasting menu and order our own plates. We ended up WAY over ordering even by staying within the dish count they recommended. The waitress was super gracious and let us cancel a dish when it was apparent we wouldn’t even finish what we already had. All the food was delicious! The skewers in particular were very good. The atmosphere was also perfect for a date night. It was dark and trendy but still quiet enough to have a conversation.

Always a great time, best tasting in the city! Hazel is a saint and always delivers a great experience. Their knowledge of sake is amazing! Food was impeccable, we went with all choices we’ve never tried and found some new favorites in the Creamy Udon and Pork Belly.

One of our favorite restaurants in Philly! The food is delicious and creative, the cocktails are unique and tasty, and the ambience is on point. Tons of vegetarian options too, so you can’t go wrong here. Intimate, dark, and vibey inside so perfect for a date night or hanging out with friends.

We got the chef’s tasting menu and it was well worth every penny! Got to try so many delicious dishes with a standout being the edamame dumplings. The downstairs restaurant really feels like a Japanese restaurant with the moody, dim lit ambiance and sushi counter. The server was very friendly and answered all of our questions. Can’t wait to go back!
