The sandwich is fine. The spicy one doesn’t come with much on it. Just the sauce. The fries are fine. Order took a while to come out. Fries were cold. Asked for fresh fries. Took forever to come out.

NEW MENU ITEM @frythecoop West Town, Chicago IL after 4 years of not changing their menu ?? Got a chance to try this bomb spot. I'm always down for awesome fried chicken sandwiches! The place was so nice with nice leather chairs, classic wooden bars, and wide booths You order up, choose your spiciness ?and pick them up at the counter. @joefontanachicago teamed up with local brewery @pipeworksbrewing to create their FIRST beer "Chicken Vs. Unicorn," ?plus have added Messy Fries to their menu! ? The fries are surprisingly tasty, with all the seasoning, pickles and coleslaw that you'd have on their Nashville fried chicken sandwich ON IT . So you get the best of both worlds in a nice shareable setting - portion is huge, it's as big as my face! The crispiest fries were the best . Wish they double fried the whole thing, would be even better! The beer was light and tasty, a pale ale that is perfect for a Sunday afternoon pick me up. Nice and malty, not too hoppy. Quite crisp with not a lot of citrus notes We also ordered their two popular fried chicken sandwiches that were BOMB DOT COM. Ordered one for medium spicy and one for HOT ??. ? Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich with their homemade spice mix, coleslaw, pickles. Great balance of vinegary, spicy, flavorful, soft brioche bun + crispy goodness. It comes with their homemade special Coop sauce. I think if you like mayo/garlic aioli type sauces, you'd like this one! ?I got the Spicy Butter Fried Chicken Sandwich since I wanted something a bit more straightforward to try the taste of their chicken. It includes fried chicken, spicy honey butter, and their brioche bun. It was amazing, likely my top 1 or 2 fried chicken sandwich spots in Chicago so far. #sponsored @midwestmunching on instagram!

So this is a popular spot for their Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Their spice level goes from nada to mild, medium, hot, crazy and insanity. I had the hot, my usual spice tolerance is pretty high, I'm usually down with hanbanero levels of heat, and their hot is at the edge of what I could consider a casual meal level of heat. Good burn, but will look to try their crazy and insanity at some point. Had it with a side of seasoned fries and it was a little soggy but mostly crispy and great flavor from their seasoning. Chicken was moist, bun was soft, was a good sandwich. Their bar look pretty well stocked, and the environment look and felt pretty relaxed and casual. Overall, nice spot, decent service, no complaints.

Sooooo, I stumbled across Fry The Coop from word of mouth through Instagram. I was very impressed honestly. The entrance was photogenically appealing. When you enter the restaurant you’ll have to gaze over the plethora of items on the menu. Being an out of towner, I’m very bummed I can not taste more of their food over time. However, this just means I need to venture back to Chicago! My donut chicken sandwich was good! The sweetness from the donut swirled with the HOTNESS from the chicken accompanied with that pickle drizzle a tad bit of honey mustard … lip smacking experience. Guaranteed!! The bar was fully stocked. The staff was helpful with the many questions I had. The music had an R&B vibe. NO RESERVATION required. I would highly recommend for first date.

Wasn’t a huge fan. I got three tenders with Coop sauce & some seasoned fries. The chicken was decent, but the fries looked like they’d been downright annihilated in the fryer. They were rock solid, and barely tasted like fries due to having been overcooked (and even despite this: they were also cold.) Sadly I’m not from the area (just visiting from out of state) so there won’t be a chance to have another go at it and see if it was a fluke. But to be honest, if I’m ever in Chicago again, I’ll probably try a different chicken joint.

Great Nashville HOT chicken! I started going to the Elmhurst location when they opened. Now FryTheCoop has a few more locations. Always great size chicken (I always get the tenders). You won't be disappointed!

I've been here twice. This is simply the best spicy chicken sandwich I've eaten anywhere. I mean just excellent. Last time we paired the sandwich with a beer that they brew in partnership with a local brewery. I think it was "chicken vs unicorn" or something close to that. Absolutely delicious. Good enough that I'll get some from them directly when we next throw a party.

Love it! The heat levels are actually where they should be unlike most places in the space I think. Medium is actually medium, not mild etc.
