Two words: Fine Dining. The service was top-notch. The ambiance was very romantic….live jazz music playing. Food was pretty average. My question is, why does fine dining always mean itty bitty portions? I feel like you are really paying for the fancy plating. If you want a romantic evening, this is a great place to go. However, if you are looking for an unforgettable meal, you should pass on this place.

The Gotham Restaurant is not only one of my favorite restaurants downtown, it's one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. The food, wine list, and service at the bar has always been fantastic. While I liked the previous decor of the space better than the recent refresh, I still couldn't recommend this establishment highly enough!

Gotham is truly a gem. I've visited three times since they reopened. They execute every aspect of the dining experience exceptionally well. The drinks, the service, attention to detail, the main course & dessert course... all top notch. My favorite highlights: the halibut, tuna tartare, sunchoke cheesecake & pear & winter citrus desserts

Great all around restaurant with a casual yet refined atmosphere. Food was as you would expect from a fine dining experience. One area of improvement could be offering a pasta main such as pappardelle in choice of either vegetarian or vegan.

One of the must try fine dining locations in the city. We got the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare & Cavatelli for the starters, both good but a little under seasoned. For the main we had the Atlantic Halibut & Elysian Fields Lamb… these two leveled up the experience, especially the lamb which was just perfection! For the dessert we tried the off menu strawberry tart with juicy strawberries marinated in their own compote but the tart shell & cream were too dry. A great culinary experience, but not perfect :)

It's rare to find a gastronomic place where everything is just right: the atmosphere, the correct and friendly service, the music (and its sound level), the cleanliness of the venue and of the restrooms, and of course the quality of the cooking. In Gotham Restaurant we found it! This restaurant had it all during our visit. Without any doubt we will be back. We were amazed that this restaurant has not been awarded yet with a Michelin star. We had a the most amazing three course lunch menu here. Starter: butternut squash soup. Arguably the best butternut soup we have ever tasted! Packed with flavor with some tanginess from lemon and interesting combinations of textures such as crispy sage, pumpkin seeds and little dices of pumpkin. Main: We had a papardelle pasta with mushrooms and marsala sauce. The deepness and richness of the marsala sauce was impressive to say the least. Pasta was cooked to perfection. Other main course we had was braised chicken breast with mixed vegetables. The chicken was crispy on the outside whilst tender and moist on the inside. No faults here. and again cooked perfectly. Mixed vegetables still had a little bite and were clearly super fresh. Desert: served us a crème brûlée (wobbly and perfect thin caramelized sugar layer) and a flourless chocolate cake: velvety soft. Both stunningly prepared classics. Cleary the chef knows his pastry. Is there anything to improve here? Well that depends on the level that you can indulge yourself with this kind of high quality food. We felt the portions were a bit too generous for us. Then again: can there be great hospitality without generosity? So no complaints here :-) Compliments to the patron, the chef and the black and white brigade for giving us this splendid experience.

Food was outstanding, service was perfect, love the live jazz music, making a reservation for 12 was easy. Thanks to the GM Daniel. We will be back for sure, highly recommend ??

NOT THE SAME OWNERS! BEWARE! RED FLAGS! We received a gift card from a dear friend that we could use during covid, and finally made the trip out to use it. However when we tried to use the gift card, the manager Ryan said they could not accept it. He claimed the restaurant was a brand new entity. I showed him the font & name of the gift card was an exact match to the bill & he claimed that the bill was "just leftover". I informed him that it was preposterous to keep the same name, font, and even bill, but not honor the previous owner's promised. He refused to budge. The part that bothered me the most was that there was no sympathy in his reply. I'm sure I could find the most run down hot dog stand in the city, and their owner would at least offer me a kind word of sympathy or a free item to show some sort of understanding that I'm the aggrieved party. Clearly this manager had no sense to do the same. And if they don't have the sensibility to do that much, I don't have much faith that the restaurant is run well in other areas as well. THEY'RE TRYING TO PULL A FAST ONE, RELYING ON THE OLD RESTAURANT'S ESTABLISHED REPUTATION!
