This place was so cool!! The decor and the music were fun. The drinks were ?! I think we tried half of the menu and loved every. Single. Thing! The twice fried chicken was my favorite for sure. Our waitress was Micki and she was knew the menu very well. She gave us great suggestions and was so friendly! We will be back!

Had an excellent experience at Hot Joy. We arrived early evening and beat the dinner rush, our waiter was amazing and very knowledgeable of both dinner and drink menu’s. Food was amazing, everything was fresh and tasted fantastic, we ordered several things to try and my only qualm is that everything came out at different times. The atmosphere and full bar make this a great place for a date night or casual after work drinks. Parking is very limited but a paid lot is close by. This place leans on the expensive side so be prepared to spend $25-$35 per person and even more if drinks are ordered.

Hot Joy is a great hang and place to grub. I haven't eaten or had a drink I didn't enjoy. Atmosphere is very cool great music playing in the restaurant. Friendly staff ,they do get busy so be patient yo!

Notice - Food Review Only: The service was great. The food was alright though not nearly the quality you’d expect for price relative to anything else in San Antonio. However, the price is definitely pegged to convenience and beauty of Southtown. Ordered the Pork belly and Sesame Chicken entree. The Sesame Chicken ($20.99) meal was pleasant to the eye and was served with steamed rice. The chicken was dry and a little over seasoned but the steamed rice helped balance the flavor. The pork belly ($20.99) was also over seasoned but the flavors in the pork belly were more refined. If I had to choose between the two, I would go with the pork belly. This is a bar first and restaurant second so If you’re looking for only delicious food, go elsewhere but if you’re there to drink, then it’s a great option.

One of my favorite Asian restaurant to visit downtown. Simple but delicious. Spam fried rice is a must for me every visit. Tonight we tried the Joe Volcano drink. It did not disappoint ? Our waitress was attentive and continuously checked on us.

Copied from a previous post. I agreed 100% with the reviewer before. “The service was great. The food was alright though not nearly the quality you’d expect for price relative to anything else in San Antonio. However, the price is definitely pegged to convenience and beauty of Southtown.” Ordered the Sesame Chicken Pineapple Chicken entree. “The Sesame Chicken ($20.99) meal was pleasant to the eye and was served with steamed rice. The chicken was dry and a little over seasoned but the steamed rice helped balance the flavor.” The Pineapple Chicken ($20.99) was overcooked on some pieces. Besides that the entree was good. I enjoyed this over the sesame chicken entree. My friends ordered the Egg Rolls. That was delicious!!! I wish I had ordered them to go. That was my favorite and we all agreed on that. The drink options were okay. I’d order my own type of drink versus what’s on the menu. The drinks were strong so that’s a plus. We loved the atmosphere here. The music is great so that makes the experience unique and awesome! I would recommend this place and I will comeback to try the other food on menu. “This is a bar first and restaurant second so If you’re looking for only delicious food, go elsewhere but if you’re there to drink, then it’s a great option.”

Super vibe-y place! Loved the laidback environment and welcoming service. The food choices were fun and unique, cooking up a fusion between Asian and Mexican. Glad to have stopped by!!
