Took 40 mins to get raw pork. And they forgot to bring the appetizer. But beer was tasty and seat was comfy.

Quite liked the breakfast, conveniently located in the Hotel. Comfy food, friendly staff and well decorated. Would recommend for room stayers to come and try once.

Nice dining establishment. Pretty good service. A little slow on the morning when they first open but overall pretty decent

Who has a loud DJ playing in a nice restaurant at Sunday brunch?? Very cute place, design is phenomenal. Wouldn’t come back as the prices are too high for quality of food and a half hour wait for a salad isn’t worth it. Not sure if they were growing the vegetables and milking a cow for it.

This was a notable experience for all the wrong reasons. My friend and I both purchased an Eventbrite deal titled New Year's Day Bottomless Hangover Brunch, and were thrilled to celebrate the first day of 2023 with an ample supply of mimosas and a delicious meal. Prior to our purchase, I read the google reviews and felt like we could give it a try since they seemed mixed and thought how bad could it be, especially since the hotel looked nice. I leave this review to help others find a more fitting experience. Essentially, customer service was substantially lacking and food was mediocrely delicious. This deception was our first introduction to this restaurant and hotel. I gave 2-stars because I rounded up from 1.5 stars; the staff were nice even if they were unprofessional. The first sign of trouble was the length of time it took for the waiter to come to our table. It appeared as though there was one waiter and two ancillary staff who were attending to maybe 10 tables. I literally had to flag the guy down to which he looked like he was trying to avoid eye contact. The second issue was that the waiter, including the manager, acted as though they were unaware of this deal. When we informed the waiter that we purchased the bottomless hangover brunch he acted like he did not understand what we were talking about. Then, I showed him the Eventbrite purchase, he informed us that they were no longer doing it. I reiterated that we each purchased the deal with bottomless mimosas and 2 menu items, and that I would like to speak with the manager. The manager did not visit per our request; the waiter informed us that they were going to honor the Eventbrite deal. We were given our first mimosa, and ordered our meal. Perhaps 30 - 40 minutes later we each received our order. It was half correct and at room temperature. Usually, I would have sent my meal back, but I felt that the waiter was overwhelmed and I did not want to add more stress. My friend and I were making the best of our experience when the table next to us received their meals that look like they were freshly off the stove. In addition, the experience should have been called bottomless orange juice. The third issue was that the bill cost less than our purchase. The Eventbrite deal was not a deal. Just ridiculous.

Hull & Oak is a restaurant suffering from an identity crisis. It's hidden away on the second floor of a hotel, with very little signage indicating that it exists. Once we actually found the entrance to Hull & Oak, the sense of confusion began. The host (the best employee in the entire establishment), was wonderful, and seated us at a table that needed some work done to it, as it constantly felt unstable. We checked out the decor, which was an unusual mix of seafoam green chairs that looked like they were rescued from the 1960's, and adorable flowering cacti in small bowls. Add in some thin curtains on the windows that did nothing to hide some TV screens that were displaying advertising outside of the restaurant, music that did not go with the decor and/or the occasion (Valentine's Day), and SUPER LOUD VOICES emanating from the kitchen, and you'll start to understand the identity crisis issue. When the host seated us, he handed us a drink menu, and a special Valentine's Day food menu. The first 'uh-oh' was that the Valentine's Day food menu did not match the version shown on the Hull & Oak website. As someone who pretty much plans out what she's going to eat before she arrives at a restaurant, this is a problem, but I recovered and was able to make another choice. The second 'uh-oh' was when our server (more about her in a moment) told us that one of the entrees listed on the special menu wasn't even being served that night. When you have a limited menu with only 5 "mains" on it and 1 isn't being served, what's the point in having a limited menu? Our server, a young lady whose name started with T, was just so-so. Once we declined alcoholic beverages, she assumed we just wanted water, so we were never offered any other type of beverage. She seemed more interested and involved with tables that were drinking (aka spending more money), which makes sense, but was kind of insulting. Okay, so about the food. Tasty, but hit and miss. I ordered the Crawfish Mac & Cheese (which is technically listed under To Share), but I made it my Main. Very spicy, due to the pepperjack mornay, but very tasty. My dinner partner ordered the Country Fried Chicken for Two (because I was going to have some of it). I have a few things to say about the CFCfTwo. First, it was supposed to come with the following: biscuits, pickled peppers, homestyle mashed potatoes & gravy, bacon-braised collard greens. There was chicken, LOTS of chicken. It was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. Biscuits? Two, and they were very good. Pickled peppers? None. Homestyle mashed potatoes? Yes, a small portion of them. Gravy? None. Bacon-braised collard greens? NO. Instead, he was served broccolini. What's with all the missing/changed-up food? Substitutions are fine, but shouldn't you check with the customers FIRST? Or maybe write your menu on a board, if things will change so much? Finally, when we asked for to-go containers (there was a LOT of chicken left over and some crawfish mac & cheese), we were given two huge containers and a bag. Unfortunately, all the utensils had already been cleared from the table, so it made putting leftovers away rather challenging. It would be nice if they offered different sized containers, as well. The people from hotel management who were walking around, asking guests if everything was okay didn't seem to care about little details, so that's why I'm leaving this review. Hull & Oak has potential, but they need to pick a direction and run with it. Consistency is key.

This is an awesome restaurant. From the hostess Erick’ to the bartender to the cook Marcus. The entire menu was unremarkably delish!!! You have to come downtown and experience the food and staff! TK Lee the Banquet manager was EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL and had the best personality and sense of humor! Teshia was our waitress and she was the best and kept out glasses full! We had a great time!
