As a party of 4, we made sure to order a variety of dishes to try. We got the 4-course dinner. The uni dishes were delicious, though the flavour does stick in your mouth for a while. The octopus in the surf-and-turf was perfect and left us wanting more. The kampachi was also a favourite. Overall, the experience was pleasant. Service was prompt, though a bit impersonal since it was fairly busy. We didn't mind since we were busy eating!

This place had some of the best vegetarian dishes I’ve ever had. The attention to detail is impressive. Everything from the food and drinks was excellent. The service was impeccable. Le Bernardin Privé is most worthy of its Michelin Stars!

I snatched a res for 5pm on a Saturday. Craziness, I know but my mom was in town and I wanted to show her only the best. I think food wise, the meal was the perfect amount. Not too heavy, not too light but just right. I think if you have a bigger appetite you will be hungry. The amouse bouche was delightful, tuna tartare amazing. Caviar with paste I think my favorite from the night. The langoustine light and refreshing, but the sole was a bit too tough. The lobster sauce was good. I asked for more bread to scoop up the sauce. The hiramasa was good, but I didn’t believe was a great finale. We had poached pear sorbet and hazelnut chocolate cake as well as petit fours to end the meal. Overall, one of the best meals I’ve eaten in my life. Traditionally French.

The food was absolutely outstanding. 6 Stars Out Of 5. Incredibly fresh, the best of the best. As a Michelin 3 star restaurant and a top world spot, I did expect a bit more in terms of ambiance, vibe and "magic" if you will. The service and everything was very good, but, it did feel like a bustling city restaurant and not a top-tier of the world experience.

Service was good The space reminded me of an 80s county club. Poor example of luxury and sophistication. That alone would keep me away in the future. Food was ok.. I was hoping to find the best seafood in the country, I did not. Shallow, hollow and dull is how I would describe the flavor and presentation of our meal. Was waiting all night for a mouth explosion, never happened. Was waiting for each plate to be better then the last, sadly that would not happen.

Very average / disappointing experience for a 3 Michelin star! Have been to several 1 or 2 stars with much better food and service. Staff was also not very understanding / accommodating to my girlfriends allergies. It was a great dinner, but for the price and 3 Michelin stars there are definitely better experiences in NYC.

Well, that was weird. That's how I would sum up our experience with Le Bernardin over 8 courses. I went for dinner with a friend. I have spent 20 years in NYC and this restaurant was on my bucket list. Big fan of Bourdain's. I read Kitchen Confidential 2X and Cook's Tour. I watched his show and the documentary. The relationship he had with chef Rric Ripert was profound. So, we arrived last night full of wonder and excitement. First, I supplied my jacket at coat check and walked to the table to find we were seated next to each other. Personal preference, but I don't like this because I have to turn my body and crick my neck to talk to my friend. But ok. Then, I had to ask the host to find my coat ticket as they never brought me one. But really, the source of my confusion was our lead waiter. From the moment he approached our table, I was uncomfortable. He mumbled and seemed to be filled with general disdain about something. And that's how he acted across 8 courses. At some point, we got a young man with glasses who served my friend was the absolute opposite: warm, authentically excited by the food. Maybe if we principally dealt with him, things might have been completely different. We had a wine sommelier who seemed annoyed that I was asking her questions and seemed to be looking down on me in the process. I do have some WSET training. I'm not a dunce. For the record, the woman was replaced at some point by a man who was far different, warm and excited by his selections. The food was magical and astounding but the service ruined it. It was stuffy, awkward, and for lack of a better word: broken. Good service should look like a dance. At one point, our waiter brought a dish, put one down in front of me twice (not my friend), removed it, and then barked to someone else to bring the wine. Are you serious?! It was like watching the big finale in Dirty Dancing, but he drops her. I'd rather eat tacos at my favorite street stand in LA than deal with a waiter who seems annoyed at our presence, a sommelier who seems frustrated that I ask questions while judging me, and a team that seems out of step. Delicious food but that service needs a lot of work.

My boyfriend and I dinned here back in June and it was the biggest disappointment and worst dining experience. Food terrible and service wasn’t the best. Dessert and wine was probably the best thing they had in the menu. but what a waste of Money. Honestly breaks my heart because I was looking forward to this place and they do not deserve a 3 Michelin Star rating!
