Went here on a Friday night with a small group of friends. The food was solid good and the dessert portions were quite large. Cocktails were tasty. All in all solid good. The service was OK. Not bad, but when spending over $100/person on food, we expect a little more attentiveness, especially when the restaurant was not full. 3 people got the Duck, Duck, Goose and said it was excellent. I got the scallops and they were good, but not amazing, and definitely not worth over $15 a scallop. While I’d go here again, it’s not top on my must-revisit list, as for the money I can get outstanding food elsewhere, whereas this food was just very good.

My uncle and cousin brought us at this beautiful spot back in November. It was a great choice. The decor, ambiance, flavorful food paired with great spirits made it a Perfect evening. Our server was so attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu. We will definitely be back and highly RECOMMENDED ??

In town for a conference at the convention center. I was staying in the Gasmlamp district. We wanted a restaurant with seafood and sushi. Beautiful, spacious, contemporary dining room. Very helpful and friendly service. We had a few salads to start, salmon entree, lobster pasta entree and gnocchi w mushrooms. I did have an excellent saki with my meal as well. Very good spot for an upscale dinner in downtown San Diego.

Went for a light dinner— assortment of oysters, grilled octopus, and the soft shell crab sushi roll. All were great! Our server was very kind and accommodating even though they had a full house. We will definitely be back to try some sea urchin soon

If you're looking for an elegant and upscale place with good service - look elsewhere. This place was loud and lacks in several categories. Starting from the judgmental guy named Don in the front, whom depending how your dressed they will accept a walk-in. I was told there was no availability for the rest of the day - the place was maybe tops 55% full. We walked out and I called my concierge. Within ten minutes I had a reservation with in the hour??? On to the service, the waitress was nice and somewhat attentive yet when I mentioned my experience at the entrance, she could care less. The food, honestly nothing to brag about. the value and flavor is just not there. Food and drinks did come out within an appropriate time frame so that means they have enough people in the kitchen. In all, I would not recommend this place to friends and family.

Great date night at Lionfish. Popular, busy and loud place. Sort of a fusion sushi-modern cuisine approach, everything we tried was really good. Great bartender for a pre-dinner cocktail. Good service, entire wait staff was well trained and attentive. Good saki list, good wine list, great food. Will definitely be back.

We celebrated our anniversary there. I purposely made a reservation months ago and asked for a bog table/booth. We got a tiny instead and when we asked if we can get a bigger table they just said NO, not trying to accommodate us at all. Anyway, food was pretty good. We had the beef tartare which unusual but super tasty. Then we had scallops and pork shank. My scallops were delicious. Small portion but I didn't mind. The pork shank was a bit bland. Wouldn't order it again. We also had theor dirty Martinis. Loved them! Blue cheese stuffed olives seemed freshly stuffed!! Not sure we would go back there but decent for date night

Such an amazing elevated restaurant in the heart of San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter (in the Pendry Hotel)! Everything I have tried at Lionfish has been exceptional, including their cocktail menu! What many people do not know is that they have an incredible happy hour where you can try some of their amazing dishes and drinks on the cheap!
