we had a phenomenal Chef's Counter experience! The casual environment & upscale tasting menu is the perfect combination. Every course was unique and incredibly well thought out. I loved seeing the kitchen put out plate after excellent plate. You can tell they care about the quality of food both in presentation and taste. Can't wait to come back for brunch!!

We lucked into a last-minute booking for a chef’s table experience and could not have been more thrilled with the whole evening. Every dish was intricate and unique, while still very accessible. Watching the kitchen put together the dishes was fascinating and ran like a well-oiled machine. Huge detail was put into every element and you can tell when you taste the food. The portions were also gigantic. We took home leftovers from three separate courses. In less joyful news, it doesn’t look like the front of house has it together. Frequently servers standing around, looking like they didn’t know what to do. We didn’t have a server, really. Every server seemed to be serving every table. It worked out, but was very strange and disjointed to experience. The table before us ran late, so we started our seating nearly 20 minutes late as well, while we awkwardly stood outside. I wouldn’t want anyone to feel rushed, but there wasn’t anywhere to “put” us while we stood there. Completely worth it though!

I loved sitting at the counter watching the hearth and the food being made! Speaking of the food, it was fantastic. I went with a vegetarian and they also loved the food, so you CAN go here and not get the chicken and still love your experience. Every dish was gorgeously prepared, creative and delicious.

Overall a good experience but not as good as we expected. Food presentation was really good. Burger felt a bit dry and the bread was also stiff. Poached eggs were too creamy and felt like they had a lot of sauce. Music was great but did not match the atmosphere of the restaurant. Music was also a little loud. The hostess could have been a little nicer. We had trouble accommodating 2 additional people and were turned away, with several tables open, and only to text us 15 min later they would accommodate us.

The curry prawn dish was so yummy! The sides we ordered were great too, including the mashed potatoes. The fried chicken dish was alright, and we really liked the charcoal ice cream dessert. Overall I enjoyed the different options for sharing. Though the ambiance was a bit too loud for me (a Thursday night) such that it was difficult hearing what folks at my table were saying at times, it’s certainly a super lively place to unwind over some great food.

We came here for my husband's birthday and had a great dinner with drinks! All the food was delicious. I think our favorite was the giant meatball - it was a perfect starter! Everyone was super nice and helpful. My only small dislike - we were seated right in the middle of the dining area, so people kept passing next to us on either side and it's not a lot of space. So we kept shifting for people to pass by. I'd come back though, but ask for a table on the side or sit at the bar

These are few pics from 3 visits I’ve made for dinner at Roister. Legit love this place and the staff!! Hospitality is outstanding and if you ever get the chance to meet Thomas, manager, you’ll love him as much as I do! You can never go wrong with anything you order at Roister. The wine selection is outstanding and I always recommend the chef’s counter top. Love viewing how they execute service. If you’ve never been I highly recommend Roister to be your next restaurant visit in the west loop.

Everything was tasty and full of flavor! 1. Get the bread 2. Milk and cookies dessert was everything 3. Rigatoni Pasta add the truffle and crab 4. Fried chicken was super moist and extra crunchy - must try if you like fried chicken
