Local favorite. Pretty darn good barbecue!! We had the beef brisket and it was super moist and tender. The shredded pork was also tender and flavorful. The last dish we tried was the grilled cheese with brisket. Tasty. The fried Okra, collared greens and the macaroni cheese sides were simply amazing. Very homemade and so so good! We will return.

Service is wonderful, great easy menu to follow. I had the three meat plate (chicken, brisket, sausage) and the Brisket Grill Cheese. Chicken was flavorful (well seasoned) and moist. Grill Cheese was an awesome Grill Cheese, no complaints. Brisket was perfectly cooked, nice and fatty, and tender, but bland, not much flavor. Sausage was a good Sausage, very nominal. Macaroni and Cheese was beautiful, but absolutely no flavorful, very bland. The pasta was perfectly cooked, not mushy. Potato salad was well seasoned, but not my thing. I strongly recommend as a side. Mustard sauce and pickles were awesome, they paired well with everything.

Absolutely delicious!! I had the brisket with mac & cheese, and fried okra. The brisket had amazing flavor and was super tender and juicy. You have the option to wash it all down with tea, lemonade, a variety of soft drinks and they also have a nice selection of beers. The staff was very friendly, and service was very fast. I had my order as soon as I was seated at my table. I highly recommend.

Ya'll have to try this place if your big on BBQ. The MAC DADDY, brisket sandwich, chicken strips, fries, mac n cheese and cream of corn, like everything is delicious. Even the pickles. We waited about 10 minutes which was not bad for going during the lunch rush hour. And the price was not bad at all for great tasting BBQ that was well served (big portions), 2 adults and 1 child for 40 bucks. Not to mention that the staff was nice and they were fast!

We are on a trip from KC and really wanted to try some local BBQ and compare. Strangely there doesn't seem to be a big consensus in town on what the best place is. This place was above average. You get to the parking lot and the rich smoke is phenomenal for setting the scene... There are some interesting sounding sides and a famous grilled cheese brisket sandwich. But honestly I was underwhelmed by the sides (spicy corn was okay, the meaty Mac was basic, and the vinegar coleslaw was pretty flavorless until I hit the feta, that picked it up.) The brisket was the biggest disappointment for sure, we got the marbled and it was also very light on flavor. The grilled cheese brisket sandwich barely had the cheese melted. The table BBQ sauce was pretty good, a little thin for me and more on the vinegary side, which I expected here in Texas, but fully doable. The highlight, though, was the really well-flavored sausage and the sweet & spicy pork ribs. It all paired quite well with the Mexican Coke!

BBQ Fanatic as of recently - not only do I prefer to do the BBQ-ING, but I never turn down an invite or BBQ date! My party and I spontaneously dined here after having a museum date at the Witte. The brisket here is delicious. Very tender and absolutely flavorful. So I do have to say I was excited after ordering the Mac & Cheese and Cream Corn as my sides; however, both had more than just a kick. A little too spicy for me that I was unable to finish my entire meal.

Perfect place to stop for delicious BBQ!! My party had brisket, ribs, sausage, Mac & Cheese w/brisket on top, spicy cream corn and it was ALL Yuuuuumy!! The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was inviting. Will definitely be back next time we're in San Antonio!

Smoke Shack BBQ is my new favorite place for BBQ. I tend to get the 3 meat plate with green beans and fried okra. On my first visit, the only thing I didn't like was the sweet glaze added to the ribs. It didn't taste bad, I just tend to enjoy savory flavors over sweet... especially when it comes to BBQ. For my second visit, I requested the ribs without the glaze. That's when I was sold...absolutely delicious including the sides?. The servings are more than enough, in my opinion. They have the white onion and dill pickle condiments like other BBQ joints; however, their dill pickle slices are the best I've ever tasted compared to others. Love the salty/vinegary flavor...fresh/crunchy. The service was great! The restaurant is a bit small with a faint smoky aroma, of course, but not overwhelming. I'll probably get takeout most often in the future so I can kick back at home and dig in!
