Southerleigh Haute South

We've eaten at Southerleigh at the Pearl and really enjoyed, so we were excited to try Haute South at The Rim. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the service was great, we highly recommend it! We started out with the meat pies, which were phenomenal! They come in a dish of gravy and were fresh and delicious. I had the Haute Chicken Sandwich and was thrilled by every bite. It's a unique spicy chicken with a little sweetness. My wife had the Crab Cakes and loved them, they paired well with the light avocado salad. My Father-in-law had the gumbo (a giant bowl!) and he said if was great. My boys had cheeseburgers and fries, both of which were great. The buns are hearty and sweet, and the fries were maybe some of the best we've had! We finished it off with the pecan caramel bread pudding - wow, delicious! We absolutely recommend Southerleigh Haute South (especially for families) and will be back soon!

Food was good. Appetizers were better. Ordered the hot chicken sandwich and wasn’t really “hot” but still had some good flavor. Waitress was nice but not the best. Didn’t come to check on the table as much. Someone from my party ordered a rotisserie chicken and they brought him a friend chicken. We didn’t complain and kept the meal, just showed the lack of attention from the waitress. Overall, still a nice place.

Nice restaurant with good food and service. Went for lunch while visiting San Antonio, Texas. Fried chicken was excellent!!! A little too heavy for lunch but real crispy and juicy. You can't stop eating it! Good size portion. The oysters were amazing too!!! Can’t say much about the drinks bc I had white wine and it was refreshing and tasty.

We arrived Saturday at noon without reservations but they had a spot at the bar available. Took a bit to get our drink and food order in but because of the crowd it is totally understandable. Mac & cheese was divine and I loved the shrimp and grits. We will definitely be back to try something different.

We went for a family dinner. It was 5 adults 2 toddlers and a baby. We sat outside at a high top table. We ordered appetizers. The deviled eggs and oysters were really good. I got the rocks flight and my daughter got the frozen flight. Our waiter was good. He checked on us often to make sure we had what we needed.

Great food… Service started slow but they took care of us. The floor manager made sure we were happy, which we appreciated. Great place. Max and cheese is richer than heck… Fried chicken is extremely tender and juicy.

Great food! The deviled eggs and oysters were delicious, best I’ve had of both in a long while. I had the fried shrimp and fries, husband had the fried chicken, peel and eat shrimp, and slaw. Both plates were good but the appetizers stole the show. ?? fries are awesome!! Biscuits are deep fried and leave something to be desired - I would have preferred a flakey biscuit or cornbread, tbh. Service was awesome! ? Eggs took a minute, and they were removed from the bill without us even saying something. We just got the bill and the waitress said she had them comped for us. Definitely recommend for a casual southern dinner!

Nice atmosphere. We had two 1/2 bird dark. One with macaroni and one with fries. The biscuits are fried and layer of honey. You can tell they are the not from scratch (layer flake), but we enjoyed them. We also had frozen mimosa which the ladies said tasted like frozen OJ so switched to the Pinche Rouge which they enjoyed.
