This restaurant stands out for it's cuisine style and taste. Not your typical Thai restaurant in San Diego. They use fresh ingredients so don't be surprised if a popular dish is sold out early. Instead try something else on the menu which is likely also full of flavor. My must try dishes are pork neck and Thai sausage. And the spicy beef soup is a good palette opener. Oh and the coconut ice cream with sticky rice is so frequent and rich!

Some of the best Thai in San Diego! The flavor of everything we ordered had depth, and was incredibly delicious. Our meals were super fresh with high quality ingredients and seemed healthiest. Loved the experience, and can’t wait to come back again.

We loved the Lao Style Ribs ($26), the meat was succulent, fall of the bones tender and very flavorful. The NY steak Beef Tallow Fried Rice ($27) was so so. The beef was tender but I did not care for the taste. It should taste like beef steak, but it didn’t. Hat Yai Fried Chicken ($19) was good with the right crunchy skin and moist meat without being oily though the dipping sauce was too sweet for me. Servers were very nice, but service was slow. Restaurant has no parking. Got to look for street parking.

Best Thai food I have ever had. Amazing vibe and service. Tried to act brave and asked for a 8/10 on the Pepper corn chicken noodle. It was damn good spicy but good kind of spice. Surprisingly my taste buds didn’t burnout even though I was close to breathing fire. Was still able to relish all the delicacies. Fried bananas was amazing as well!

Best Thai food I’ve ever had in my whole life! My favorite dish is the grilled pork, so juicy & tender. Also tried the Hai Yet chicken & octopus salad. The salad is a bit too spicy for me but I think that’s the authentic way so can’t complain about it.

Affordable, Authentic, Delicious. No wonder it's a top tier Michelin Restaurant. I did not have the opportunity to pick my parking, but I got to pick where I could sit for the first time in my life at restaurant. Say no more for your Thai needs, come to Sovereign Modern Thai Cuisine, the best is SD!

My second time here and it was just as good as the first! The menu was updated with some new choices but the beef tallow rice was still there and so amazing. The service is also top notch!I have thought about this non-stop since heading it for the first time last year. This place is a must if you're in San Diego!

Malaysian and Laotian style and inspired dishes! Dinner service was fast. The appetizer wraps with peanut and sweet sauce was a huge hit. Great textures and flavors. Thai ice tea was great. Vegetatian option for the curry noodles was delicious and complex. Chicken satay is a must. Coconut desert was unique and amazing! Spice levels are naturally high so be sure to keep it mild to medium unless you really handle your heat.
