Vernick Food & Drink

I’ve heard many good things about this restaurant, and I was excited to try it. The reservation was easy to make on a weekday. We ordered a few appetizers that were fresh and well prepared. The presentation of the food was beautiful. One thing I didn’t like is that the food selection is limited, but drink menu is bigger than the food menu. Also, they use arctic char instead of salmon for the crudo. For such a nice restaurant like this, I think it would be nice if they don’t substitute the cheaper version of salmon. It’s a great place to open a bottle of wine with friends and share some delicious food. If you like good wine and nice ambiance, this is your place :)

Even though the food menu was not very large, but the food was very good. My favorite was the scallop.. yes single scallop.. it was very tasty. Also they gave us a cucumber chilled soup as a starter and sweet bread was very good. My next favorite was the grilles squash. It was just the right amount of sweetness and little sour. Yum. Beef tartar and spaghetti were good, too. Nothing special. We shared the main dish half Chicken. That was pretty good. Very tender, and full of flavor. Finally drink review: black lily. Wow.. it was good!! I got "happy" very quickly. IT was strong, but good flavor. It was mix of cognac, rum, honey and peat.

Ten Years and Counting, we now know why! Each bite was Pure Delight like happiness in your mouth. There was the sense of Excitement along with a craving for each course that followed! With that said Vernick Food and Drink is a must try when in Philadelphia! We made reservations in advance and ate upstairs.We had a 7 course tasting with amuse bouche for each dish. The atmosphere was great and are servers were awesome and on point.

I’m rating Vernick Food & Drink in my top 2 best restaurants in Philly. Service was EXCELLENT! Our waiter was so attentive and went the extra mile to make our anniversary dinner amazing. Food was AMAZING!! Started with a Raspberry Gazpacho which was delicious. Our favorite dishes were the crudo and spaghetti. Mmmm I’m still dreaming of the food. Will definitely be back for special occasions.

Amazing food! Everything was simply amazing. The Hamachi..the duck...and finally such a unique dessert with rhubarb and multiple concoctions. Such a delicious meal!

So many choices when it comes to good food in Philadelphia. We picked Vernick for the good reviews, and it was a great choice. Everything tasted great, service was super attentive. Will definitely come back.

The food in Vernick is truly bliss on a plate. It’s one of those restaurants where every ingredient plays a role in creating rich and complex flavor profiles. The menu is likely seasonal so I won’t dwell much on individual dishes but know that every single item sang like a perfectly tuned choir. From the sun choke soup amouse-bouche, to the tartare of the beef and the half chicken.

Vernick, you never cease to impress me. The wine, the toast, the crudo, the chicken - all cooked to sincere perfection, and I leave with my stomach full/heart content.
